FATA(Federal Administration Tribal Area) which was under the federal government of Pakistan before it was merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.It has a total area of 27,220 km² and population of FATA 5,001,676.It borders Afghanistan to the north and west While it border with KPK  (khyber pakhtunkhwa) to the east and Balochistan to the south.Before merging with KPK, this area consisted of 7 agencies.This area was merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the 25th Amendment in 2018.

Maidan

Maidan area of ​​Khyber district that is rich in natural beauty it is connected to the mountain range of the Afghanistan border. This area is also called the summer home of the Afridi nation.In winter, the entire area is blanketed with snowfall. In summer, the beautiful scenery of the natural waterfall and the high green mountains offer a soulful scene.There are large orchards forests of nistar and pine trees.The famous cricketer superstar Shahid Khan Afridi also belongs to Miadan (village Botan sharef).People from different place of Pakistan visit the Maidan to enjoy the snowfall in winter and greenery in summer.
